Being a married male, I often wondered what a woman goes through with a gynecological exam. My own wife refuses to discuss it with me, and being curious, this narrative gave me some insight as to what occurs. Nothing really sexual about it, but very insightful. My wife has a male gynecologist, and I wonder if he does the complete exam or if he has a nurse practitioner to do it.

Why do american women go to a gynaecologist once a year??

Medical nonsense, in my opinion.

The American medical guidelines used to call for a pap smear (to detect cancer) every year, hence the yearly trip. But the American guidelines have changed and they now suggest every three years as the optimal schedule for pap smears. Which honestly makes me nervous... that is three years in which a cancer could spread and grow and become very very serious.
