I only normally comment on stories that I really like, and this was one of them. Nicely thought out with a little twist in the presentation which was good.

A bit predictable, but that's not always a bad thing, as one can enjoy the strory going the way you want it to.

I really liked it. The second commentator gave a demonstration (intentional) of how to reduce everything to triviality.

I agree with Bruce and Britease. Nice story. Yes okay the ex-husband was a little on the wimp side but he came good in the end and the ex-wife got what she deserved to be alone. Well written story.

I think this story is a well-written portrayal of narcissism, although the women that I've known who are like Nora tended not to be planners and schemers but just cruised through life. I think Jeffrey's behavior was much more credible than the wimps who are portrayed over and over in the LW category of actually seeking this lifestyle.

...is how was the slut wife ever going to take the hubby to the cleaners in a divorce when the divorce would've been a direct result of her cheating ways? Judges don't award large settlements to abusive, slut wives, especially when there are no children involved.<p>

I just don't see how or why the husband felt trapped. There was nothing stopping him from divorcing her and winning the lion's share of everything. To cement that result he simply needed to hire a P.I. to get pics of her affairs and that would've been that.<p>

Good story though, despite that one large problem issue. Unusual ending too, with the main person narrating the story taking all the blame and losing everything in the end. Good effort, smegma.

This was a genuine story. The characters, situations and plot worked wonderfully together to tell this tale. I think this story shows a high level of maturity like many of your others. Thank you again for a fine read.

When I was reading the story, it felt as if it was adopted from a play. It was that intense and dramatic, with so much going on at every second. No question, it was very tight and with the back and forth (time wise) structure, the contrasts between the place the ex is at present and her running amok stages in the past, made for an unusually compelling read. <P>

In response to Harry’s comment, I did not read the husband promising that had the ex declared her love to him he would not have left her; only that that’s what he was looking to hear from her, despite all the abuse he had taken from her. <P>

BTW, Sorry for not commenting on the story when I first read it…

you read that correctly, that was indeed what Jeffrey was looking for from Nora, some form of acknowledgment of what she had done, taking some responsibility in ruining the marriage. It was by far too late to reconciliation.

Another great story. Your stories leave the reader with a better understanding of people, relationships and hope. The cheating wife becomes a three dimensional person as opposed to the more common nightmare harlots of other stories. The sadness of the cheaters role is made clear in your stories. I know a few cheaters, they have all lost their self respect, their honor and the trust of most of those around them - including their own family. That kind of self destructive behavior pushes people away. Sad.

Well written, well thought out, and delivered in an excellent fashion. I've perused (can't say read since I tend to fast forward) many stories of the nutless wonder/faithless whore variety, usually appreciated by those who seem unable to understand that sex plus love beats hell out of sex alone. I congratulate the author on a damned fine read, and agree with other commenters, that the rating should be far higher.

Why telescope the ending like this?

We all knew how this would go from the very beginning.

A novel approach, but not really entertaining since we knew the punchline.

For me, someone that give his all for the person he love, even when that woman was the one hurting him, is a real test of love. I'm not with the others below that thing he was a pussy, but rather one genuinely in love and motivated by that love to try to save his marriage for as long as he could.
