Beautiful Story.

Thank you for sharing your story. It amazes me how we can find the strength to fight this disease and how it changes the lives of those that have it and the people that know them. My mom is a survivor but I just lost a friend to this horrible disease yesterday.

A walk into the sun will do us all good.

I've just finished reading a terrific book, "Breakfast with Buddha". One of the characters, a Rinpoche from Russia, is showing a skeptic blades of long grass he's woven together. He explains that the strands represent past, present and future lives. "Wife, husband, brother, sister, son and daughter. All your lives woven together forever. Some lives long , some short. Some easy, some not so easy. Your current life is easy. Do not waste."

Good advice, that. Do not waste.

My sister died august 21st at 54....

....from a brain tumor resulting from second stage small cell lung cancer.(which helps explain why my postings have been increasingly angry)I quit my job last spring to become her pca.She never once complained, about anything, never showed fear,(except one or two times to only me) and I learned once and for all that beauty and human dignity does not have the face of a supermodel. The people I met in chemo with her had more grace and courage than anyone I'd ever known.-pistolpackinpete
