The exwife is a braindead slut

She fucked around at work so is a whore. Myself I would have never let her back in the house. Peggy is a much better catch and actually loves the guy. The kids do appear to be well adjusted, more so than their mother or father. He was a bit slow on the uptake and then a bit slow to react, but then love does make men blind.

An enjoyable story

Our hero was very levelheaded and efficient in snatching victory from the jaws of defeat... I am sure that his hate reaction was connected to the probability that she was cheating and it started from the moment that she asked him to leave and grew.

"I have find myself" she at the last second responded to the deadline.

<b>IF...IF the mother had NOT given him the disposed of Pregancy Test... he would of Kept the cunt whore wife.

It took this fucking idiot 4 months to put down a deadline.

Brings back memories

This story reminds me of a time in my own life, with a few differences, my Ex kicked me out to, as i found out later, "Teach me a lesson", unfortunately for her it backfired, After the divorce i found my soul mate and ended up getting re-married, much to my ex's consternation.

Why no detective?

If there was money for a nice house in an upscale neighborhood with a pool and so forth, I would think he could have afforded a private detective to get the goods on his cheating wife. No counseling, despite her having hurt him terribly . . . Even a nice guy would not be that wimpy, IMO. I would have filed within a week, maybe even the next day -- I can't imagine anyone waiting 4 months or longer. And I'm a little fed up with the "jury" being kept from the truth. Kay's father was judging Stephen and siding with Kay without knowing what the hell was really going on. What's wrong with letting him know?

Good Story

Very well done. An interesting story populated with imperfect people. There is no one in this tale who is above a little moral dissolution including Kay and Peg's mother who 'rats out' her married daughter. The author has shown a lot of progress in storytelling as well as creating (with the help of a good editor) very readable prose.

What's immoral about....

....the mother "ratting" her slimy daughter out? And divorce rates are like health insurance statistics.Maybe 45 million Americans have no insurance but there are another 100 million who have insurance that is a joke, like 2000 dollar deductibles etc.I'd be more interested in what the stats are on happy marriages, ones that don't require the church or some other extrinsic force to keep up the facade-pistolpackinpete

AnonymousAnonymousover 14 years ago
Pete the census bureau has stats on marriages

If I recall correctly, and I am not sure. It indicates the average marriage in the US last about two years. And those in their twenties and thirties can expect to be married about five times. I may be off a bit but that is as close as I recall. If those stats are right one can assume that "being in love" last about 1.5 to 2 years.

No harm No Foul.

The story was a good one with a good plot. Read it yesterday but it took another day to really see a oouple points I find were brushed over with ease and leaves me wondering about our civilization.

He was as good husband and never really said no to his wife and let her have her way the whole marriage. Anything to keep the peace. But at what price. Happens all the time.

She dicided she needed to find herself (right) In todays sic. society I have seen this happen to good friends.

He held his ground and she got pissed. So what's new. Anyway the story line skipped over two important items. One the innocent bystanders lost thier life. The love child. How any grandmother or Man could let an innocent perish to settle a problem is beyond me. Her lover gave her money for an abortion and that was the only price he paid. He really cared for her didn't he.

Personnally he should of paid a much higher price for screwing up someone else's marriage, paid a little money to solve a problem and walked away scott free you might say to save his marriage.

Her attitude of no harm, no foul was a standard excuse I hear to much now days. Except there was harm, to her, her marriage, her unborn child and all those involved and she is still on good terms with her parents and everyone else. These points could have been dealt with and maybe someone would like to cover them.

But That is the opinion only.

But how any man who calls himself a man would let a innocent perish to solve a problem is beyond me. That is not a man.

Improving

Slirpuff, your recent stories are a tremendous improvement over your earlier efforts. The story lines are very good and the character development in most cases is also very good. <p> Even though you said someone else is now previewing your stories, they REALLY suffer from attention to details. For those of us who are fast readers, having to frequently re-read a sentence seriously detracts from the flow. For example: missing and extra quote symbols, missing words, incomplete sentences, spelling errors and serious grammar errors. Most of these would be caught if you just read again what you have written. <p> This is not intended to slam your work, but to offer an incentive to achieve a more polished product. There are some outstanding writers in this forum and they got that reputation by consistently producing well written, well executed, and entertaining stories. With a little more attention to details, you might proceed into that class as well.

Nice Story

Likable characters and a good plot with one self-centered wife. I too see an improvement in your writing style. I know an author always likes to please their readers but don't change your stories at the expense of your integrity. There is nothing wrong with improving your writing mechanics as long as you are true to yourself. The only thing I would have liked to have seen is a little payback for the guy that was screwing his wife. I believe that a person should always come in contact with the consequences of their behavior whether they are positive or not. The man ruined Steve's family and caused them a lot of pain. By sheilding him from the consequences of his own behavior Steve was being an enabler which means the married adulterer won't learn anything and most likely repeat this undesirable behavior. But that's just me. Maybe, you are one of those people just turns the other cheek or figure sooner or later he will get his. For ever the reason it is your story and does tend to put Steve on the high road. Thank you for the entertainment. Keep up the good work.

Entertaining

A good little tale. I thought the first few lines about love and hate were going to lead somewhere, but I never really got much evidence of love or hate. Anger, yes, but the hero never really unleashed hate. The wife definitely showed no love, but I didn't get hate from her either. Contempt, selfishness, stupidity, and disrespect-yes, but not hate. I liked the overall idea, though-a man in love who lets things slide to the point that his wife, rather than feeling guilt over an affair, instead thinks she can put her marriage on the back-burner and "explore" an alternative indefinitely with all the comforts of her married lifestyle, and expect to have hubby back at the drop of a hat, if that is what she wants. Well done.

Versimilitude

That word means 'the quality of realism'.

It's one of my four factors in judging a story. And this story happens to ooze it. A man in a desperate situation like this, with two kids, a mortgage which he is holding onto with two incomes, who happened to love his wife...how do you deal with this?

You hope the loved one gets their head out of their ass. This story worked for me, ignoring the technical errors and probably should be favorited. The scene which worked particularly well was in the kitchen with Peggy and the man, when she revealed that wifey was dating. His sense of shock and despair seemed incredibly real to me. Very few people, even those with deep suspicions such as the hubby had, would respond in so cold a manner as to analytically make choices.

Obviously he got over it, and pretty quickly (that is where the suspicions came in).

Liked this story muchly.

AnonymousAnonymousover 11 years ago

So he breaks up with one cheating whore to marry another one? And yeah, Peggy is exactly that. A woman who will make excuses to sleep with a married man is one who has absolutely no morals or respect for the sanctity of marriage and will do the same thing again. I guess it runs in the family. Clever twist.

Good story just not suited to my tastes. Never understood how willingly allowing your wife to run around with the excuse of finding herself helps a marriage in any way. Also don't like the male character acting like a little bitch. That's just my personal feelings but as far as the story goes well written.

Excellent

The wife wanted a separation to find herself. That was a ruse to cheat while in her mind she wasn't cheating, she was separated. Well that came up and bit her in the ass. The husband did what he had to do and in the process found his true love, his sister-in-law, much to his ex-whore chagrin. So in the end everyone wins. Oh except the skank whore cunt ex-wife. She has nothing and no one. She loses.

A flaw in her story

She didn't come back until he forced her to. He gave her an ultimatum and she knuckled under.

This AFTER he canceled the credit cards, her phone, the locks, the accounts, AND was preggers by another man.

And the other thing the hubby didn't catch was that she was moving HIM out and was...what? Going to have the other man openly visit her in the family house? Openly date in front of her kids?

Not sure if this was a mistake of the author or just sloppy thinking on the part of the characters, but all in all, she was garbage well worth getting rid of.

Sense of Realism

Though it is fiction and author is allowed "literary license", I like a story with a sense of realism to relate to...

Even after the sis-in-law informed hubby of wife's extra-curricular activities, and after wife's no-contact 4 months absence, hubby has no problem having sex with the wife (that too only after she returned when he laid a hard deadline). Even then, he realizes wife is "in the motherly way" only after his mother-in-law's warning. So, if the wife had "taken care of the situation" with boy-friend's money and hidden her pregnancy test better, hubby dear would have been smug and happy with the returned wife.

Very difficult to believe an otherwise normal man can be so dense. There should have been red signs from the day wife came up with her adventure idea.

At the end, this was a story about a stupid husband and a slightly more stupid and immoral wife. Hubby dear was saved only because in the competition of stupidity, the wife won by a slender margin (by not hiding her pregnancy kit from her mom). If not for the mother-in-law, hubby would be proudly raising wife's time-out love child.

The plot was great, the story was well-written with great editing but the plot's competitive stupidity prevented me from enjoying the writing as well as it deserved. I couldn't give a 5* in spite of the great writing.

No real acknowledgement of the abortion. This piece of shit cheats on her husband, gets pregnant and then kills her unborn child. If I were a judge, I wouldn't let her near anyone's kids let alone her own. Disgusting! Abortion may be legal, but it is still killing. It is killing your own child. There is something profoundly wrong with someone that would kill their own child. It goes against every natural instinct a human being has. Like I said - Disgusting!

So where did Peggy live?

Throughout the story Peggy was coming from the family home to pick up gear, advise about Kay's dating, and get Steve & kids out of the house before Kay and parents arrive. Then in this paragraph:-

"You see, she had found a pregnancy test kit in the trash and it showed that someone has got a bun in the oven, so to speak. Since she was the only other female in the house and it sure as hell wasn't her, which only left Kay."

Doesn't work as Peggy was in family home and pregnancy kit could have been hers.

I just don’t understand…

A well written story with some interesting characters. In this story we have a husband who does everything correct when his wife wants a separation. As a matter of fact everything worked out great for him. The only problem I have is why did he even think about taking her back! While everyone was telling him that she was “dating”, and the way she left him, and as smart as he was, didn’t he consider that she was cheating on him to find herself. That should have been the first thing that crossed his mind. Other than that I was glad he dumped her and moved on. Good job with an interesting story. Thanks!

Three stars from me.

Why? Because the story was decently written and I largely enjoyed it, but it is a long way from perfect. Aside from some minor errors, I was disappointed by the weak ending (or second half of the story, for that matter).

Excellent story

Gave it 5 stars. Now, question? Peg knew all along? remember the beginning the phone call over heard? Now move forward to the EPT kit found by mommy dearest. Blood is thicker than water, but sadly, this family of inlaws knew already Kate was with another man, what was worse, they kept it from Steve. Question I have, how do you dare even trust a family of inlaws? Now you take on the sister, even whom knew of Kate's affair and no doubt pregnancy. Do you think the mother knew, of course, my opinion, the quiet delivery of the EPT was an attempt to keep Steve close, giving him some false sense of security with her, otherwise he would take the boys and leave. That whole family is a pack of liers and worse, have their moral compasses so screwed up I cannot see any relationship with them.

Oh, and never

Ever trust, or stay married to someone when they say they "Want a trial separation".

That`s cheater code for,"I`ve been fucking someone else, and I want to see if I want to live with them, while having you as a fall-back plan, just in case it doesn`t work out, and I need you to support me and pay my way!"

That`s why they call it a "Trial separation". It`s shorter, and easier to say.

Separations don`t work. They are all about seeing what else is available, while having a safety net. Can`t fix a marriage if you aren`t there, don`t communicate, or ignore the issues. Separations are selfish; they are all about what one person wants, regardless of what the other wants, so the other person has to sit in limbo, waiting to see if they are even loved,or worthy? Bullshit.

The kids never recovered and after alot of therapy still cant seem to have normal relationships. The dad really never recovered. Years later she appeared asking to come back, stating she made a mistake. He said no of course. She has continued a string of lovers and has never found a guy that will stay with her.

The kids rarely speak to her, or to each other or anyone else in their family.

She damaged them all. Great mom, great modern woman.

Trial seperations

along with "girl's or boy's night out" have to be the stupidest things imaginable. Neither one can lead to anything good in a marriage. How can you find out about loving and a relationship with someone when you are "separated" from them? Alcohol and rubbing up against someone who is not your spouse don't exactly make for good outcomes either.

Very well written story, I liked the way he had remorse but didn't cave to her. I gave it a 4. Would have been a 5 or 6 but he waited past the time of suspension of belief and then actually took her back. Boy had to be one brick shy of a load to have believed she was coming back from the way she left. If he liked his family at all and enjoyed being with them he should have started looking really close at her when she started wanting to separate him from them.

well done BUT

Based on a totally FUed situation no sane man would accept. Glad to see the ending though.

The is interesting and very well told.

I you want to write another alternate story acknowledging the inspiration, Fine, do it.

But to worry about how much punishment was dished out to the offending pair is a real waste of time. Again we find that the man is understood to be a pussy by some and a hero by others. If you are paying attention to what the author is saying you will see that he considers Stephen to be a just man. Other interpretations are fantasies.

*****

I wouldn't say the wrong one, he did get two great kids out of it. It was just time to trade in the malfunctioning model. Cost effective of course.

Good Except -

He should have gotten the name of the other man, gotten the evidence, and destroyed the other guy's life with it. It would be easy, just, and it would help to satisfy some of the damage done to his family. Balancing the scales with the truth is always right!
