A darn good read

I was really getting into this. Am looking forward to more.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 14 years ago
Excellent, didn't want it to end so soon.

Please don't take forever to get more of this story to us. I don't bookmark many writers or stories but I did this one.

AnonymousAnonymousabout 14 years ago

Great start

Awesome start-off, dude! Keep it going!

There aren't enough cat-girl alien stories on this site and it's good to read a new one, especially one like this that starts off so well.

amazing start

very good start, minimal background but it fits the beginning. Good point to finish the first chapter and cant wait for the next one

AnonymousAnonymousabout 14 years ago
nice start

this is a nice start to a long story . . . if the promise of the first chapter is met, this could turn out to be a great story . . well done

Awesome

Great introduction and setting here. Minor expansion can be done but nevertheless its great. The entire paragraph about weapons did give me a chuckle. Nothing says unstoppable like a great hunk of metal moving at insane speeds

Reminds me of Enemy Mine, so keep on going.

Nice work here.

Great Start

Mmm feline enemy race who regard humans as weak and includes a human-alien romance... Reminds me of the Alexander Galaxus series.

Just a friendly warning

This is a great story with a lot of potential, but it is unfinished and hasn't been updated in over a year. So if you don't want to get too involved in a story that may never be complete then stop reading now.

*sigh*

Yeah, I started reading it a while ago.

I've been sending messages to the author asking him to at least let us know he's done writing.

As far as I know, (I think someone posted it in a later chapter's comments), he got married over a year ago.

As much as it hurts to say this, I don't think we'll ever see the end of this particular story, which truly does suck. This story is one of my favorites.

Chapter 13 is in the system and should be up soon.

Rereading from the beginning

Chapter 13....this is a big deal. To celebrate i'm rereading the whole thing from the beginning. I'm not really even a fan of the furry thing, but this story is just so well done. Thanks.

Reader be warned

Really damn good series, but reader be warned, it aint finished and likely never will be. Whoever the magnificent bastard is that made this has gone AWOL without finishing his story. Damn shame

Thank you

Nothing I hate more than getting into a good story and then finding that it was never finished.

Oh... well, shit.

Five stars, excellent opening and then I read that it's abandoned.

Back to the search :/

Another one!

And here we have another unfinished story. Don't waste your time.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 7 years ago
Finally Done!

Hey everybody, apparently the author finally finished this thing. I haven't read the ending yet, but I'm hyped to see where this goes. Enjoy, anyone who's just jumping on now

Consider me hooked!

As if it hasn't been said enough, this is a great start to a story that does what all great stories do in the beginning: It hooks the reader. The way the first page ended would've been good enough because of how well the story had already been paced but the little bit on the second page is just as good.

The idea of making the protagonist a medic does so much for the story without making me want to roll my eyes at yet another "Mr. Nice Guy" story and you didn't start off boring the reader with a bunch of info dumps that plague many sci-fi stories. Best part is I didn't feel alienated by you going overboard with a description of the protagonist features/race or make me feel like I'm reading a story catering to Furries.

And it would seem that this story is in fact finished so "Hooray!" for me finding what looks to be a COMPLETE gem.

AnonymousAnonymousover 6 years ago
I'm glad there's more

I didn't realize this wasn't a stand alone story.

This ended so abruptly and I was hoping for more.

Consider me hooked.

I'm glad there are 13 more chapters

OblimoOblimoabout 6 years ago

As long as the enemy alien isn’t played by Louis Gosset Jr, consider me invested!

Since everyone is being considered hooked I guess I am too

I was looking for a Lien geller update and I ended up here

Excellent. Really enjoy build up and back story.

Can't find the artwork as alluded to by several posters.

Has anyone else noticed a similarity to the Wing Commander series....

Back again for another read. This story really set a high standard.

AnonymousAnonymousalmost 2 years ago

To anyone reading this in 2022 and beyond, I would seriously advise rethinking continuing to read it. You may enjoy the story, but the main character is written to be so pathetic and useless that it takes away from the story. The ending isn't near satisfying enough to make up for what becomes a slog to read through eventually. If you look at the "heroism" the MC displays in this chapter, he never exceeds this. It reads like he's meant to become more courageous throughout the story, but he actually becomes more and more of a pathetic loser. The author even has the opportunity to have him finally do something useful near the end of the story, and decides against it. Again, you MIGHT enjoy it but if having a painfully useless and pathetic MC isn't your cup of tea I would advise against reading further.

Yeah it’s the modern world now and not the 50’s and the atomic age with stupid kids buying X ray glasses from magazines before modern trade practices forbid such lies in advertising and kids went to school and learnt real science ( as opposed to ‘duck and cover’) . So where is this all going you ask? Well you can’t be sloppy with basic science these days and even in stories you can’t contradict every day known facts that people learn directly say from school, or learned by extrapolating known facts, or learned by experiencing the fact for themselves.

WTF you say! Well the x ray glasses the dickhead have are useless. As stated the only way they could work is if they were Bluetooth linked to a x ray film of some type THAT’S BEHIND THE PATIENT. You see x rays pass through almost anything and most defiantly don’t reflect off anything really. So his x ray glasses need an x ray source/emmiter that’s on his side and a flim that could be electronic or a wet film BEHIND the patient. Then you need a way to display the film on the “X-ray glasses” which would then just be a display screen and nothing to do with X-rays.

You see X-rays that you see are actually the negative of the real X-ray. Since the film reacts to the X-rays themselves which means that the bone that blocks a lot of X-rays wouldn’t show up much and the meat that lets almost all X-rays pass through would be glowing white on the X-ray film. But that’s not what you see on the picture because the ‘developer’ inverts the image and on a wet film X-ray,old school, you see the negative while the modern electronic films they just invert the image intensities.

So X-ray glasses are a load a of bullshit and anyone who has had an X-ray or went to school knows this. It’s a known physical impossibility. No amount of science fiction can use X-rays as a medical imaging device without an emmiter one side and a film the other. Those components can be as flashy as you like and all sciencey as you want but they have to be there. If you don’t want all those bits then don’t use hundred year old science a millennium in the future, people got smarter to make cool shit but scientific facts and partial physics and nuclear physics is still the same.

So what to do… instead of X-ray glasses like a 3 year old, this guy is a doctor so he’s probably a staid person and educated SO….something along the lines of an ‘ Atomic Reference Medical Imager’ or ARMI for short. That suits a military component better and it’s a thing that YOU invented to suit the futuristic world so you determine it’s abilities and the name says it all so you don’t even have to explain it’s use or function just like the X-ray you tried to use. Well you did use it so that’s why we are here.

So this is a big fuckup early on so what fuckups are to come? Id rather not find out so I’m out.

Great story.

Wow, some people can really get they knickers in a twist.

It is a great pity that the Universe did not make the world in the way they wish to perceive it.
