The problem is that the book was written and also read by terrorist bombers. So it is in effect void once it was published.

There are more chances of there being a bomb left in an area in America then a terrorist bomber and people who have lived in Europe or Israel can testify to the fact any object left unattended can be a bomb. I have seen in Israel bombs hidden in Eggcrates with24 eggs on a carton on top of a bomb in trash cans and in briefcases. this is what Americans need to be concious to. I know as New Yorkers we all have tunnel vision we want to get from point a to point b asap but please at all time be cognizant of your surroundings.

You just described me going to a doctors appointment. I mean I stare stright ahead or out a window to avoid conversation with idiots. I normally wear a long leather duster coat even in summer. I carry important supplies in a shoulder bag and sometimes I fiddle with them. When I'm thinking I have been told it looks like I'm really talking. I'm disabled with one leg slightly shorter than the other with some balance issues so I may seem to walk funny. Never knew I was a terrorist bomber before!!

I travel to NYC from time to time. The security that you see is just white wash and window dressing. How the bomb works depends on who put it together - not necessarily who is carrying it. And bombs can be almost any shape. They do not have to be detonated by hand. A timer can be used or a radio signal can be employed. If cornered, a true martyr will detonate his bomb rather then being taken into custody. Or, if they are killed or knocked out, a "dead man switch" will detonate the bomb.

You really can't tell if someone is carrying a bomb or has just had a bad day.

So what is the best defense against the suicide bomber? The US should mind our business outside our borders. When you attack another country for no other reason other than corporate gain and kill innocent people and a lot of younger victims are left behind. Some religious nut can pick them up and brainwash them easily. These are the easiest people to make into martyrs. And, at times, it's hard to put the true blame on them.

It is politically incorrect to identify a suicide bomber as it would be racial profiling. To interfere with them is a violation of their civil liberties, unless you can prove they possess illegal substances before you can search them. Otherwise they have done nothing wrong until they have blown themselves and others to smithereens. Personally I would take a head shot from a hundred yards away with a large caliber hand gun. I'd be a hero, or a heel, or the next son of Sam!

Well, your comment started out rather well. But the wrap-up serves as a shining example of why the mentality of "the west" has difficulty in dealing with the mentality of jihadist Muslims. It's not a matter of corporate gain and killing innocent people. The entire philosophy of certain sects of Islam is that America and Israel are inherently evil, and are worthy of attacking and killing innocent people. For them, politics and religion are irrevocably entertwined, and their perception is that they have a mandate from Allah to either subjecate or eliminate all "nonbelievers". The brainwashing starts at an early age, and is without connection to some sort of attack.

A young man, who was not a Muslim, shot 6 people dead, for absolutely no reason, this week. So perhaps a little "how to", on the subject of, how to spot a fellow American, who is about to shoot you, would be useful too.
