A little lameness, why not?

Too much high brow navel gazing in this world. A silly little quip on current events is a nice break. Although I can't quite figure out what dropping an Obama means.

For meter symmetry between the two stanzas, shouldn't "Can't be cozy" be "Can not be cozy"?

Thanks for the comment. The "double dactyl" is a light verse form invented by the poets Anthony Hecht and Paul Pascal. Supposedly more difficult than the limmerick, it follows strict rules. Regarding your question, the last line of each stanza is supposed to have 2 trochees. What makes it challenging (and fun) is that the other 4 lines must be double dactyls and line 5 is always supposed to be 1 word.

I am hopeless with meter.

So my name is Vee and that shit don't involve me, but I loved this poem. I enjoy the occassional silly poem and have been guilty of one or two myself.

Ah...

Regarding the meter comment: Now I see what I got wrong. I kept reading "Ms. Pelosi" as "Mrs. Pelosi".

Then the line would indeed have had five syllables, and the end of the first stanza would be one short. My bad.

Correction. I meant to write "line 6" in my previous comment, not "line 5."
