Having read the whole series, this is where it takes a turn for me.

Wanda and Carl seem like a happily married couple... you don't get there if you don't value other people. They already have a submissive, whom they seem to treat very well (like a daughter, actually). They just don't treat Larua and Gary very well.

Gary's submission is offering his gf/wife as well as his body. Gary isn't continuing to surrender Laura... instead, he is completely severed from her. Part of cuckold psychology is attempting to hold on to or reclaim the wife even while giving her away. Wanda and Carl have completely changed Laura (into Anne) so much so that she really isn't his wife anymore. Instead of a cuckold, Gary is basically a widowed chastity slave... which doesn't fulfill his needs.
