Land
Many Americans believe that only white people owned land and slaves however that is not true; there were free blacks in Virginia, South Carolina, Louisiana and Georgia who owned land and slaves as well as Cherokees in Oklahoma. Lissia's maternal and paternal great grandparents were free black land owners originally from Louisiana and Virginia - her grandmother's father fought on the side of the confederacy at Fredericksburg.

Outstanding and Lovely
I wanted to shout and scream, finally a writer who know there history. Many american black and white donot know that many black fought in the civil war on the southern side. My mother family is from the south and they have over five hundred arces of land. With her family everything is a state secret, regarding this land. Thank you for this lovely story.
