Who else can use "poindexter, gobble, flabbergast and BB gun" in an enjoyable story about young love? Who else crafts the vocabulary of nerdy, inexperienced, hot-to-trot adventurers pushing the envelope into never before imagined emotional possibilities?

Few authors can set the stage and Guide the reader back to such a coming-of-age episode. This special moment in time is complete; anything more would break the spell.

You bring back images many of us can recall with more clarity than we care to admit to close friends. That goes for the jerk imposing on weaker "friend" with a sock on the door knob, the struggling achne-faced nerd watching the "rutting animals" in a dorm room, as well as the two fledgling Lovebirds in their hopefully secluded love nest. Congrats. A True WINNER!

This story has really touched me. In the sense that the first part made me experience again the sense of frustration, failure and rage against oneself that I lived years ago, in similar circumstances (not so extreme, fortunately). I don't know if the author experienced it, but he described very precisely how a "nerd" lives the lacking of skills and resources to face the whole dealing-with-women issue.

And realistically, the second part makes sense in the way that the lessons painfully learn really make the difference for Hans.

My congrats and my humble praise for a touching story.

I don't know if you are still around to read comments, but I wanted to tell you that I Tammy enjoyed your story. As a guy with Aspergers and a big nerd, this story hit close to home. I was an even later bloomer, but in my early thirties I found my cute nerdette and we have been together for over 20 years. We also took each others' virginity, and never let go.
