Lydia the Tattooed Lady is an old New York song that Bobby Short (the great!) used to sing on his NY song collection, I used the name Lydia to protect the innocent and as an homage to Bobby who squeezed my ass years back when I met him the first time at the Carlyle Hotel. I loved that guy! Still play his discs. May he rest in peace. He willed all his rights to the high school he attended as a kid and they have it all to earn for scholarships etc.
