was an excellent story and written very well. The story was a little confusing re the timing of him moving back to his home town, "conspiring" with Ashley and Sybil, etc. I thought that in real life Ginger's friends would not be able to keep a secret, but Ginger's demeanor during the "accidental" meeting made me realize that the friends wanted the fix-up to work and might have kept the secret (in real life).
Sorry, can't buy it. If you had stopped with him saying she wasn't good enough sexually, it would have been a cruel vicious and satisfying. Having them get back together so quickly after causing so much pain doesn't fly. 3*
I couldn't find a single person in the story that wasn't completely shallow. I recognize there is a difference between sex and love, but apparently you don't. His wife says he is bad in bed, he gets depressed, sees a shrink, has sex with someone and is miraculously better in bed, and then he gets back together with his wife, who suddenly says he is good in bed, though why he would believe her after she spent their entire marriage lying to him, is left unexplained.
I think you're probably much better than this, but maybe you didn't have the time or just rushed through it. Either way, I couldn't find a way to become emtionally invested in the story...
Not one of your better ones. OK Justin was insecure but he didn't do anything about it when he found out about her one night stand. He didn't try to find out why she rated him so low. Did the others also rate their husbands low as a drunken prank? He didn't know, we don't know. It did not add up for me.
She should have worked with him on his lack of knowing how to satisfy her. Both could have used a education. This story happens but his moving on and seeing a sex therapist then moving back home to bang his ex while intending to leave her. Just doesn't work for me. What shrink would say go back to your ex and show her how you now make love.. Really!!!
Feel good story. Could have been much better. Shallow characters .
Time stood still back at the hometown. The effect on others ,of the rating game, was
not shared or explored.
Excellent plot ! More original than most.
It looks like you were in a hurry to reach the end. Instead of five stars & hundreds of comments; you get four stars & a nicely done
just for the plot vehicle of the "list". That was brilliant .
Of course I do.
This closely follows the successful "The Surrogate" story by ohio and also the less successful "Man Enough" by HeavyHeartLaments.
It is an interesting scenario. The writing on this is tight and well done. The people seem credible for the most part. It doesn't drag anything out.
This story is rating low so far for a couple of reasons.
1) This guy is portrayed as a wimp. Yeah, you had the 'me hulk up when upset' blurb to NOT make him look like a wimp, but let's face it, he whined, whimpered, gulped and cried the entire story. I would have loved to read 'burning angry' Instead I go 'soppy sad'. The minute she put ANY pressure on him, particularly in the restaurant, he caved. This isn't a man I aspire to be or someone who interests me.
I don't mind that he WAS low. We all have bad days. I have an issue that he REMAINED so low.
2) She was a cheater and that was essentially swept under the rug. No discussion. No remorse. We never had this addressed.
3) Additionally, she shit talked about him to ALL her friends and likely all their husbands too, particularly AFTER the divorce happened. None of her friends can now 'see' that he's a stud in bed. They still have the same opinion of him: that he is a pathetic loser whose wife needs to find other men to give her orgasms...but he makes a wicked crème brulle . THIS is the reputation he wants by returning to her?
There were other things I didn't like. But these were the major ones. I don't NEED revenge, but giving her three seconds of self doubt after giving him TWO YEARS of depression and shattered self esteem is a bit light.
He really didn't seem to love her at the end. They never made love, they fucked. And right to the end, he's still trying to either get even or punish her. I don't think he's gotten over her put-down and I don't think he will. If he can behave in the manner he did at the end, he's simply a shallow jackass. She should have taken the job after telling him that he was a self absorbed, sanctimonious prick. Well written, but it seemed too implausible at the end.
Wow! Ok, THAT one was good! That was COLD BLOODED at the end, Hap! Shit, I must be going soft.... or not. Either way, this RAAC actually kind of worked for me.
I would have kept on walking, but this worked too. I'm still chuckling, and my wife is looking at me funny. :D
At the end when he supposedly loved her again..he was just interested in making her hurt. Tit for tat isn't love...it sounds more like spoiled gone completely rotten little boy! Very few times is there a reason to really be an AssHat about everything.
"Love was always more important to me than sex, and I loved you, and only you."
So why did the bitch CHEAT on him then??
F*ck the rest of this shit!
Who wants a cheating cunt for the mother of your children??
I cannot believe for a nano second that Ginger would have him back after he walked out on her & divorced her over something as minor as a silly bachelorette party game. If she was anything as hot as the story made out, she would have moved on with a real gentleman who genuinely cared for her within a year (& would not have felt the need to play up to make for his then obvious deficiencies). And as for the brain dead BTB idiots blaming her, for fuck's sake! I would NOT want to be your partner! Ken
Meh. The rating system was one thing but the one night stand(s) should have sealed the deal. There is no way she only had one affair or at the very least she is capable if doing it again. Just don't see why he went back.
How did he 'know' he was an inadequate lover?
According to the story, he always thought they had a very good sexual relationship. She never told him anything about how much of a dud in the sack he was. But she was MORE than happy to tell everyone else.
Though that was another thing which I didn't like about the story. What inbred hill tribe does this guy come from that he's never liked or done cunnilingus or doggie style? That strained credulity for a modern man NOT to know such things.
And this was a good catch. We know her BEST sexual encounter was A ONS.
How do we know that was the ONLY ONS she had?
I really liked the original mechanism of how the revelation was done and how it was done very much highlighted the betrayal that she was so 'free' with this information under small amounts of peer pressure, but never shared this with her husband.
One path not taken I would have loved to see was the fall out with all the other wives who attended. If I, as a husband, heard that a couple was getting divorced just for playing some stupid game, I would have some very POINTED questions for MY wife as to exactly the nature of that game and would NOT be put off by evasions and distortions.
Sybil would find herself far less than popular with a lot of her former friends.
Do you pick and choose what parts you read? Something as 'trivial' as admitting she fucked another man and treasured the experience. This isn't the first shit head comment I have seen from you so I see you as either shit for brains, which requires a flush, or a cheating skank writing under a pen name. Justin is written as a kind of a wimp ignoramus but the garbage you spew out... She welcomed another man inside her which breaks their contract and his trust. She had their entire marriage to teach him to become a better lover and tailor him to their sex life. Just because I would have flushed her out of my life never to interact with her again doesn't make me an 'idiot'. Try looking in the mirror and at your own writing before calling names.
Okay, so the dude--who wasn't the liar/cheater--had a fragile ego. Name a man who doesn't?
Okay, so he sulked, bailed on his marriage, threw himself into an alternative area of male conquest, and proved himself.
His therapist has him go back to the liar/cheater/neuterer and prove he has changed--quite an unrealistic but effective ploy, by the way, but maybe she knows that he still loves her--and therefore can re-establish the relationship with his ex on his terms. So long as Ginger initiates the action, she proves that she desires sex regardless of his skill level, and he is allowed to be the same one-dimensional person she turned him into.
All in all, it reads like a Literotic Harlequin romance from the male perspective. I'm fine with that. If chicks can spend hours getting weepy-eyed over star-crossed lovers taking 180 pages to find each other, I can sure appreciate four pages dedicated to a guy developing the ability to fuck his wife senseless. Do her again.
@ Ken Philips - since you're a WACC yourself from all the crappy stores you've written no wonder you think Justin should have just rolled over and accepted his inferior position. After she cucked him. She humiliates him in front of their friends, cheats on him... She's a cheap slut. I get tired of the crap that she loved Justin and only Justin. You don't love someone if you cheat on them.
Alternate ending... Justin is now the stud. Tells his ex she can move in but he's not going to be faithful. He'll screw any woman he wants any where any time. He uses his wife for sex but doesn't love her. He reminds her that other women are better than her in bed. yeah paybacks a bitch but it never happened in this story. And yes the bitch deserved to be burned for a lot longer than two minutes.
I enjoyed it for the most part. Wasn't a big fan of the ending. Voted 4*, would have voted 5* if it ended after the last line of page 3.
And a very improbable ending.
Excellent tale. ALMOST. When he walked away telling her she wasn't good enough was fantastic. When he turned back saying he wanted to marry her again was terrible. He had his dignity (and his balls) back and he lost them again to the woman who destroyed him.
Why? She'll cheat again, even if only a one night stand.
Damn. Could have been great.
The real problem wasn't sex, it was loyalty, fidelity and love. His wife / ex-wife was not loyal, she wasn't faithful and she really didn't love him! Love is a verb, it is the act of caring about another person. It is wanting the best for them. She cheated on her husband, and she told all her friends about his shortcomings, that isn't love. After 5 years of marriage, that isn't love. After 5 years of marriage, she never discussed their sex life or tried to help him improve, that isn't love. The premise of this story and many others like this is the same: she really loves him it was just some mistake. That simply isn't so, people who cheat on their spouses do not love them - by the very definition of cheating! People who betray the intimate secrets of their marriage do not love their spouses - by the very definition of betrayal! Yes, the cheated spouse may have truly loved his unfaithful, disloyal spouse. That love was misplaced! There are MANY selfish, useless people out there unfit for marriage. Do not make the mistake of associating with them. As in every other aspect of their lives, they are selfish, greedy people. Partnering with them will always lead to a bad deal for the other spouse in one way or another! (There are many other ways a wife can destroy her husband other than infidelity!)
RAAC ending ruined it and the idea of any shrink telling a patient to have sex with their ex for closure is just preposterous.
RAAC till the end, and a lot of WACC as well. I must be really a fucked up male, shit I'm almost 50 and I haven't ever cried about any women other than my grandmother. I've been divorced, married again and other than my grandmother's death, I have felt the much sadness to cry about some bitch that fucked me over. She cheated, she talked about him like a dog and some how he is the only person in the story with no backbone. The was 2/3rds Matt M, a dash of slirpuff and a splash of ohio.
He (Justin) architected the ending to make her feel the same things he felt when he saw her answers... I was wondering, at that point, if those pills would turn out to be of the morning after type. Back to the story, they are divorced so both could play around, but, the interesting thing is that she kept pushing him back towards her bed.
If she only had those memories characterized by the questioner, this would not be happening. Yep, for me, her infidelity would have trumped all, but the story was a treat! 5
Sand. Sand is always for desert.
Of a story Ohio wrote...
I thought this story was ok - the Dogg is right about comparing this author it MM and Ohio (good writers). I can understand wifey dearest getting drunk and dissing her man with her friends, and I can understand him dumping her for it. Somebody else commented that she would have likely moved on rather quickly, which is probably true. The little twist at the end was mean - surprised she forgave that one so quickly - IRL she would have thrown him out after that. Reasonable entertainment, though, for a Thursday morning.
Thanks for the effort.
I'm not sure that spending a part of every day scrounging for vindictive stories about spousal betrayal and concentrated revenge counts any differently than "crying over a woman." One is just shorter, is all.
This is the second story on this site where a sex councilor teamed up a male patient with a female sex surrogate to boost his ego. Of course, the surrogate is not a whore even though she has sex and is paid for it! I can't recall who wrote the first, but this story is similar to that. The ending here had potential, and I can't help wondering what took our hero so long to try and get his ex to "feel his pain". But he let her off the hook far too soon. The best I can give it is 3 *s..
Of course this story leaves one with all kiiinds of questions
- do they ever learn to communicate
- will she continue the initial disrespect
- will they survive a child with their "new" relationship
- what happened with their " friends"
Still, I definitely enjoyed this. It was a change from the norm.
Not sure if I like or dislike this story. I'm giving it a three.
Totally fucked up and not believable. I gave you a # 5 LOL
He says it's in the roof the vagina when she's prone (face down). Not so, it's in the roof when she's supine (on her back). Some women do have good pleasure spots between the rectum and vagina, but it's not the G spot.
good story until susan said he had to fuck his ex to finish his problems. from there everything was blablablablablaaajfjaföjfagaö
Keep writing them and I'll keep reading them! Thank you.
Good story but two years without sex, come on! Also, he should have keep going at the end. Once a cheater, toss her ass!
I will even give it five stars as I found the storyline engaging and well written. I am always in favor of reconciliation, but have a few problems with the ending. As a reader, I still have questions about this wife's reasons for her affair. She said it was because she was drunk and she regretted it. However, she claimed at the party it was the best sex of her married life. Doesn't sound much like regret. Was she just funning at the party? Hard to imagine she would belittle her husband so casually in front of all her friends and just be joking. I am familiar with these kind of party games. Yes, they start off as anonymous. The fun is that they end with everyone finding out whose answers they were. She essentially told all her friends she cheated on her hubby because he was bad in the sack. Ouch. Do you really regret so,etching you joke about? If she regretted that night, she would burry it and never speak of it to others. So the unanswered question that the hubby doesn't ask . . . Why did she have this affair? Drunkenness strengthens resolve and reduces inhibitions. However, it is never the motivation for cheating. He should have explored this further. She apologized for being drunk and making a mistake. There is more to it than that.
Secondly, the counselor telling him he needed to have sex with his ex was a little hard to swallow. It did not sound real.
Thirdly, my biggest problem is that she is a big winner in this story. She complains about her hubby's ability in the sack, he takes off, gets some sex lessons, comes back and shows his wife what he learned, and then takes her back. Wow! Now she can be happy. Why would she not want him back at that point?
So I had to look up "gonadotropes"! Good, but I don;t think I'll get to use it in conversaton. Well your protagonist was indeed hapless, as was the wife. Talking about sex is really difficult for some people, especially when they aren't sexually satisfied and think that they will wound their loved one if they tell them what they want in bed. "Will he/she think I am weird to want sex outside, or anal sex, you name it. If you can't talk about it, and you are not satisfied in bed, cheating is a poor substitute for communication, but somewhat understandable. Without him changing, it would continue and probably end the marriage.
Allegedly there are only seven plots for Western stories, and there aren't a lot more loving wives plots, so I'm not upset when an author didn't find a virgin one. More power to commentators who remember stories, titles, and authors. I can't.
As to the reconciliation, why not? I'm surprised the author had her celebrate for two years, and with all of his new found confidence, why he didn't have the balls to call her on the phone?
I would have expected more discussion about their expectations of their life together, does she want panting aerobic sex every day and twice on Sunday? Is that what he wants? "Honey, what page are we on in the Karma Sutra? I dropped the book and lost our place!"
But hey, it's just a story.
but how does that address the issue of her cheating on him or being oh-so-willing to diss him to her friends? We all read how he changed for the better. All she did was promise not to do it again. She promised a few things in her wedding vows, too. Promises that didn't seem to stop her.
Pretty good story line until he took cheating Ginger back. When he went out the door after their dating and telling her off he should have kept on going. Just a story, but BTB!! Cheers!
The last five paragraphs ruined the story.
She cheated on him and publicly disrespected him.
Time for him to move on, not back to her.
As mentioned in previous comment, Ohio has written a story where a dud becomes a stud, his characters were much less marionettes to master plot and had fuller inner lives.
Yet, this was very, very absorbing at crucial levels - megaprops for rating game wrinkle and the carnal rehab details. I liked that the narrator didn't run round using his new found powers on ditzes and established a win-win relationship with seasoned, sympthetic older woman.
This author made a credible effort to give his flawed characters heart and dignity. I do enjoy his borderline sociopath stories too, but this excelled as a change of pace. Full marks for crossing me up .
Nah.Can't go along with this ending.
Must suspend real world logic and experience, but so what? The therapist would not recommend going back to the ex-wife for sex. Too much baggage, too risky. Good therapy focuses on the future. But so what. The story made the reader care about both characters and found a way to put them back together. Five stars.
...is just fine, although it suffers from the story's major flaw of being rushed--its plot plays out with almost telegraphic speed and lack of depth. As a result the characters lack dimension and the events feel contrived. (Sorry for the big words, Anonymous. Maybe you can get Mom to explain them to you.)
What's stunning in the comments here is the sheer vindictiveness and lack of forgiveness; I've never seen such a lack of compassion. Thank goodness Anonymous has never talked about a girl after sex (if Anonymous has ever had sex) or done something regrettable while drunk.
Man, this was depressing..
... her one night stand only served as a reminder Hubby was inadequate. Apparently, her infidelity was not the problem here, instead it was an equally humiliating emasculation plot device: a batchelorette party "rating" game which inspired (WTF!?) Hubby into repairing his virility. Sure Wifey will reap the benefits but their marriage is based on deception and disrespect.
I don't like stories which fail to explore the bigger picture but instead identify a problem in one of the spouses which has nothing to do with the overall predicament.
2* because Hubby demonstrated some semblance of self-respect even if it was fleeting.
