After I read it is okay for me but not him. I don't enjoy this kind of bull shit.

I felt like you deserve points for the courage to depict a male character who admits to be a jerk. The very familiar but totally underrepresented double standard of many men makes a rare appearance here. I wonder if other readers can remember other stories in which a male character actually confesses having this double standard. Talk about realism. It's still a common attitude, but apparently not an easy sell for a story.

Having said that, just because you have the guts, it does not move the story automatically into the pantheon of Lit. The plot is just not that interesting and the characters are quite shallow (other than the depiction of the professional massage world).

"I cheated cuz she did" is no reason. It's still adultery and makes that person a liar and a cheat. The story is realistic -- btw, how sad is that? -- but the characters are neither moral nor admirable. I thank you for your effort.

Is that there's not a likable character anywhere. They're all sluts, whores and assholes. Nothing fun or entertaining about that.
