Iowa

You really ought to do a series on the Iowa finishing house, how everything started up to the day Jim Mellon shows up.

Great read

a really interesting story since I enjoy riding my bike cross country. I do think you have gone overboard with the concept that all rules are made to be broken. Rules are there for a reason. Looking back to the feel good generation we see what's come from that lifestyle. HIV, and other sexual related diseases happened because of broken rules. I realize this is a fictional story, but it's a little heavy on the mumbo jumbo doctrine in my humble opinion.

Oh Well

It's gotten too unbelievable. The lack of stress and jealousy between pretty much everyone is about as likely as being in an commercial airplane crash and struck by lightning twice on the same day you win the lottery.

While polyamory is a wonderful ideal, if you take this story as a template you'll crash and burn. Complexity in intimate relationships isn't additive but multiplicative based on the number of participants.

You may have infinite capacity for love, though I sincerely doubt anyone really does, but you don't have infinite time and attention to invest in the people you care about. Real relationships take time and energy and that simply isn't reflected in this story at all. So much so that it exceeds the ability to suspend disbelief.

Dude!!

This is a wonderful story but a little naive. In this world everyone's so ready to share their partner or spouse with each other. In the real world jealousy would be a large problem. Sexual disease would also be a major problem. Condoms are never mentioned ever.Being one with the Universe does not mean you can't be safe.Being one with the Universe also means you don't have to share your lover with everyone. I'm sure that couples who are in committed relationships can be one with the Universe also. You can have a great sex life with wild hot passionate love with a willing partner in a monogamous relationship and still ring the Universe's bell.Sharing your life essence and sexual energy with Mother Nature, God,and the Universe with a loving committed partner is what made this world great. Hallelujah brother! Preach, Preach on.

It't become boring.

All the women are beautiful and leggy. What about the ones that are less perfect? I know it's just a story, someones dream, but it is now boring and and lacking interest. So the star rating will fall away.

A great book you must read to completion.

I know you are a couple writing these stories and I want to congratulate you on writing such a captivating collection. The idea of a forty-eight state trip is brilliant. Please write more stories in a similar style. The sex is nice without being vulgar. I am in the middle of writing three E-novels and I have hardly written a word since I started reading "Road Trip". Your writing rates a 5 star rating in my humble opinion. Write on please. Woodbgood

It's a shame.

I can't read anymore of this even though I'm enjoying parts of it. Other parts though are just annoying me to distraction. I've said it before about your summation of conversations within the story and not really establishing personalities during any intimate situations. And over the past 2 chapters some of the encounters come across as anecdotal and due to (I'm assuming) your own personal viewpoint even nearly parables to your theology. There is no conflict or counterpoint to your 'love all' mentality, everyone eventually accepts with no prior knowledge of each other. Now I can accept some things due to it being 'fantasy' but this is a cross country tour across the USA and there are bound to be some differing values here and there.

Furthermore, does Jim Mellon just excel at everything? He knows computers, fighting, engines, Tai chi, meditation, massage, he picks up tantric loving at the drop of a hat despite being a self admitted "vanilla lover" all his life, and then steps into a music studio and he's the next country music star with a hit single and record deal? It's like you're writing the next Forest Gump or something. It's fanciful!

Anyway, that's my whinge. It seems like it's stacked too much in your protagonists favour and that destroys my suspension of disbelief. Along with your own ideas on 'energy' and psychic mumbo-jumbo which have been spouted from your characters here and there. There needs to be counterpoint within the story, some kind of balance otherwise it comes across as a whitewash and agenda driven with no real sense of realism or reality.

Starting to lose me...

I started this story going off the title "Road Trip" expecting adventure, with some intimacy mixed in, but now it sounds like it is going all 60s hippy on us - love everyone, spirituality, meditation... That's all this last chapter seemed to be. And that every female he interacts with he beds for days? Getting to be very predictable and losing what the first chapter had that got me hooked. I didnt even find it worthy to log in to comment...

But you are now going over the top... it's become almost silly..

getting somewhat tired of "all-day, multi-orgasmic sex" repeated day after day ... way too idealistic and unrealistic

And the list of satisfied ladies keeps growing! Another well thought out and written chapter. I look forward to reading the next. I appreciate your and your Muse's imagination and abilities to bring it to your story. Thank you for sharing your vision and talents.

I'm not a huge fan of swapping. If Crystal really loved Jim, she wouldn't spread for other men. Selfish? Yep!!!
