Wow! This made me cry, I loved it so much. I would love to have a love like this even for the short time that they did.
Well done and keep writing please x
Nothing like a laugh and a good cry. You did a great job with detail of the people in the story, so much that I could picture them in my head. Thank you
Please add another chapter where Roland dates Janie!
Very sincere read.
...but this the best. Words can't really describe what it's like to go through this, but you've come closest. Five stars are not nearly enough.
This comes along and bites you on the ass. A delightful read which had me emotionally engaged. Nice one!
This is an extraordinary story. When I see that you have posted another story it is always a must-read for me. I think that this is one of the best stories you have written. It hits particularly close to home as I am of "a certain age". Currently our health is good-ish and hopefully will continue so for a long while - but out somewhere over the horizon...
Thanks for continuing to write and post stories that are entertaining, moving, thought-provoking, humorous, and valuable.
Beautiful characters in a fascinating setting. It hit me hard, and it made my smile...
Exciting dialogue.
Just watched game five of the world series, so it is appropriate to say that you hit a home run with this story - five stars.
i lost my grandmother to several health issues then grandfather about a year later to cancer.i never saw a better example of love then between that 5'2 woman and 6'4 man,and she ran the family better then any mafia don ever could.we all knew when nanny spoke god said yes ma'am.
Thank you for this very moving story. You have a wonderful talent for creating very believable characters, along with the story itself being one that many can likely relate to on at least some level. Three cheers for senior sensuality! :)

of weaving a story into a nest, and planting me in it, so that I believe everything as if it were unfolding before my eyes. Once again, you have torn me away from the real world and let me spend some time in your wonderful world of fiction. And once again, I feel richer for the experience.
Thank you.
That was truly priceless -
He gave her everything he had including the comfort of knowing he was going to die soon - challenging the fates to give her another moment of peace - NICE.
What an idea -
Cmm, this story displays your artistic skill at writing that is both poignant and uplifting.
CM:- A story with everything for a guy with similar losses - you got it correct!

I didn't see the last bit at the end coming, loved this story and I hope he ends up with Janie, love your story
The aftermath is missing, would love to see him not close himself off and foster a real friendship with Janie where they meet up, maybe more.
Actually had tears in my eyes in the hospital scene. An awesome read! 5 stars.
For those that think Janie and MC should get together, he's an old man and she's in her 20s. Not a likely pairing, and would in no way be fair to Janie.
