Very predictable, same old formula ⭐️

Very good story. Well written with likable and believable characters. The plot was quite simple but kept me interested, and ticked along nicely. The climax at the cabin finished it all off well. Perhaps my only issue was Cynthia and the reveal about her past. I felt it was unnecessary...

(Then when she responds 'yes', which she would)

2. "Why?"

(The obvious unasked question being "what changed from when you *weren't* with me?")

Very interesting, with some echoes of N.K. Jemisin. The happily ever after ending is certainly pretty much all that can happen after the battle, but the future of Mariel seems oddly unspoken, with no sense of what might happen as she ages. Definitely a very unique story for this site.

Feels kinda empty. Story went along without consequence in any way. Just him losing two people he loved, its more of a sad tale and not an interesting one.
