I was wondering if any one knows how to become a porn star or get into the porn business. Any advice?

I think that's probably a great majority of people in the world, lol. You might want to check out the book 1-2-3 Be a Porn Star! A Step-By-Step Guide to the Adult Sex Industry by Ana Loria.

Post pictures of yourself and we'll let you know if you qualify. :D

yes because nobody else on here likes that.:p

I agree post some pics. I think you would have to be very majorly hot to be in the porn industry. I do not include guys, but you could say the same for them also in some cases.

You might want to do some serious self-reflection first. As a porn star, you'll be having sex with a LOT of different partners, many of whom you may not like or find at all attractive. You'll be expected to perform whatever sex acts are required by the director, regardless of your preferences. I've noticed that a lot of porn movies don't include condoms, and who KNOWS what kinds of STD's may be floating around a set.

As an alternative, you might consider a strip club. Strippers can make excellent money, get to be very sexual, but don't have to have sex unless they want to. (There are actually a couple stripper threads around if you run a search.)

In any event, as with any job, I strongly recommend that you set up a couple informational interviews first. Sit down with somebody already doing that job and talk to them about it. What do they like/hate? What's the going wage rate? How did they get started? You don't have to know them first, just cold-call and ask if someone is willing to give you a 15-30 interview. You should not have to pay them for this time, but offering to buy a cup of coffee might be nice. The biggest key is to remember that this is NOT a job interview; you are not asking for a job, you are asking for information only.

Thanks to those who gave the advice. It was helpful. For those who wanted to see my pics only the production companies get to see those pics.:p

Well bigtits, when you find that job, let me know. I want to be the sound girl ... you know, the one in the background who is really making the noises.:D

Seriously, I'm not sure the occupation you are considering is really as much fun as you might envision. There is a lot of stopping and starting, which means a single clip can possibly take hours and hours. It is also pretty uncommon to see a female in a porno actually having an orgasm, indicating it isn't all that enjoyable. Most of the time, the main point is the male's cum shot, not the female's pleasure.

If you have great pictures, why not market those somehow and save your love of sex for a wonderful hobby?

Why doe people think becoming a porn star is as great as it appears on the surface??

Sure you get it on with some gorgeous people but it's still WORK. Those glorious sex scenes that we all see in the flicks aren't shot on one continuous take. There's lots of cuts & edits involved and never as easy as it looks on the screen.

To me, having sex shouldn't be an edited performance. Even as a guy I'm not so sure I'd want to be a porn star- it might be a great fantasy to get it on one on one with some of those gorgeous porn stars but to do it under hot lights, having someone tell you WHEN to cum and having to stop & start because of technical difficulties doesn't sound too appetizing or erotic.

Hey LustEngine, were we thinking alike today or what? :D

I've considered all of those possiblitys and I still come to the same concusion......I want to be a porn star. As far as a backround sound girl I hope I never need one. :D

Most of the time, they need to have sound girls to overdub the orders being constantly barked out. Oh, and the sounds of the spectators, of which there tend to be many ... If you watch much porn, you will cum to notice the sound discrepancies. (Sorry, that just slipped out.)

We are just trying to help you make an informed decision. If you haven't already, try making some porns at home and see how they turn out.

Again I'm in full agreement with Wantonica here. While we're not out to persuade you from becoming a porn actor ("star" is such a subjective term nowadays), I just want to point out to you that there are two sides to the issue of going into this profession. While we on the outside looking in might think of it as glamorous & glitzy, it's still work and I'm sure has it's down side. Please take a look at those less than glitzy aspects before deciding. Do your research on this field.

I guess becoming a porn actor always seems more like a flash in the pan as opposed to a career especially if you're an actress. Again, it might not always be the case but seems more the norm than not.:(

It is true that finding work as a stripper is a lot easier. Hell, I've done it (oh, for those days!). I did incall/outcall work for a local agency, and while mine didn't allow sex, there are some agencies that do.

Besides if you're reallyserious about auditioning, stripping would be a great way to show that you can move & grind as opposed to just being some stiff on camera. I've always thought that strip clubs would probably be the ideal place to be discovered or be a "minor league" of sorts for the porn business.

The one item I couldn't agree with here (sorry, dear) was the thought of being a porn actress as glamorous and glitzy. If I wanted to sweat all day, I'd work in a factory. If I wanted an old guy humping on me for hours with a flacid penis, I'd find an ancient millionaire. If I wanted to be told to have sex in the place, manner and position someone else demanded and not get satisfied, I'd have stayed with my ex-husband. If I wanted to be my gyno's best customer ... well, you get the point. Not that I'm trying to discourage anyone from following their own personal career goals; never, never, never.

Happy day to all,

Make Your own "Home Video's"

I have met a couple people in the past that made "Home Made Video's and sold them over the Net. No barking directors, no old unattractive men, just making money doing what you like best.

A couple we met in Ca made "Custom" video's and made $3-$4,000 for each one. they sold copy's of "Normal video's for hundreds of dollars for each copy, and lived a very nice comfortable life.

Why WOrk for others in bad conditions when you can be your own boss. :D :D :D

My first thought reading this thread is that you want to be a porn star, but that noone is allowed to see naked pictures of you but the production companies?

It's a little off I feel.

If I was wanting to do porn, I think I would start with something like that, soft and hard core home shoots, and home movies, and then post/distribute them on the internet, and well, if you can't stand the thought of a few hundred people watching you, you're not going to be able to deal with a few thousand (or many more...) people who pay for and buy the porn you're in.

I'm inclined to think we've all been snookered here a little bit. Melesse brings up a good point here... what's wrong with a free publicity shot of yourself if you're serious about going into doing porn? At least you'll get a chance to select the shot as opposed to a camera capturing you in all sorts of angles showing all of those physical imperfections. I think the first thing you need to launch a porn career is the confidence to be able to show yourself to just about anyone.

Yes, but porn stars and prostitutes only do it for money. When was the last time you saw a hooker giving out free samples, or a porn star not ask what she'll get for undressing or having sex?

True. But I work in that 'world of porn' as an erotica writer, and I know from experience that if you want your name to hit the mainstream, you have to give out those 'freebies'. A prostitute or is quite different than a porn actress in that regard. A prostitute is a one-time, slam-bam, it's-done deal. A porn actor has to get his/her name out there for longevity, and 'freebies' are considered autograph signings, promo pictures, short video, etc.

Consider it a screen test for your public consumer, not just the director or producer. "BigtitsIhave" on a marquee doesn't mean jack if no one knows the name. But if someone says, "oh! I saw/met/talked with that girl a few months ago, she was hot, let's go see it", that pulls in more revenue...makes your star shine brighter for the studio...and gets you to where you want to be.

So, I agree...I think we're all being had here. If you're serious about it, let's see the promo pics. That's what they are for...promotion.

I'm patiently waiting, sweetie. :)
