I would not build temples to your body
nor write sonnets of your love.

Temples and sonnets last forever
and are meant for the enjoymentof many.

I do not want that, for I wish to covet
your beauty and take it to my grave.

A powerful image

of the selfishly beautiful

power of love cherished.
