Darkness,
I reach out into the void
with heart, soul, and mind
across the expanse of blackness
that surrounds me.
To the last vestige of light eons past.

Silence,
even the sound of my heartbeat
has been stilled, calmed.
A gray blanket of fog descends
about me, shielding me from
the things I do not wish to know.

Somewhere,
the great expanse is crossed
and our minds join together.
I draw back from the contact
but curiosity overwhelms me
and again we connect.

Together,
our minds link and we understand.
The sensation of a caress,
lingering and warm.
We are entwined,
one with the universe...
