A HEART WRENCHING MOURNING BECOME SO POWERFUL BY ITS POETIC FORMAL RESTRAINT AND THE USE OF BOTH METONYMY (RASBERRIES AND STRAWBERRIES) AND SYNECDOCHE (THE FINGERS).
I CAN'T FORGET HOW AT ALL MILITARY CEMETARIES PARENTS MOURN THEIR BABIES.
Someone whose development has been arrested at some painful stage of his/her early development, has sent me a message, presumably horrified by the thought that I actually referred to real babies in those military cemeteries. As my returned message proved to be a dead end I just wish to remove any doubt that I was talking about the emotional bond between parents and their sons and daughters. For them, and no matter at what age the lost son or daughter is always their baby.
