Loved it, Rumply! Imaginative, funny, and even kinda hot, in a weird sort of way. Great job :)
...after your Valentine's Day entry.
I liked the bit about the praying mantis. *grin* Now please God, hope it gets out of my mind soon enough. It's not a very good thing to be popping into one's mind at certain moments.
Great story Rumple. And chuckle-worthy. :D
You crack me up. Gives me a new outlook on fishing. I had no idea that Freddie, Bronson and Pasquale were watching that day. I really must be more careful...or should I? LOL! Good luck Rumply. ~Minx
Oh jeeze Rumpy, you outdid yourself on this one. My sides are aching. I'll never go to the Pro Bass Shop again without thinking of this story.
Well done!!
RF.... what can I say.... I'll never go fishing again.
Okay RF... Boating season is right around the corner... don't think I'll be looking at the Croaker I reel in this year in quite the same way! LOL ;)
weird and quirky but good write!
good Luck!
~LB~
I began to crack up at this point and didn't stop until Bronson and Paula went to find their cool spot.
An amusing addition all around.
Hilarious stuff, Rumple! You almost made me fall from the chair, I was laughing so hard.
Good luck, and I'll leave you with these words from CCR:
I can remember the Fourth of July,
Runnin' through the backwood bare.
And I can still hear my old hound dog barkin',
Chasin' down a hoodoo there,
Chasin' down a hoodoo there.
Born on the Bayou... *wink*
Was this an attempt for Last Place?
I'll foil your plot with a 5-bomb. I thought that fishing was often an excuse for something else. Now I know. It's an excuse for 'it'.

Incredible. I loved the story and it is downright hilarious. Congrats.
I enjoyed your tale, good luck and happy earth day (~_~)
This was a fun read Rumpy, your imagination does you no credit whatso ever.
Clever and fun, Rumpy. I especially liked that part about humans not having alliterative names, and Bronson's such a perfect name for a bass.
It's good to see the word from the other side. That was slick.
cool story... quite a different view on things... and it will make me feel watched each time i am close to the water...
spying on us humans, trying to figure us out. Very good. You used to write for Field & Stream, right?
Thanks for the great read.
I'm still smiling...What a great, imaginitive story! Now, how I am going to explain why I'm laughing at the albino snake when we're on the lake this summer? lol...Just fin-tastic all around!
Thanks for the link... This one was very humorous and I needed a slice of funny in my day. :D ~ Red
Good one Rumply
I did one with a Black Bass who was really Black but i don't remember where it is or what it was about. Now I'm going to have to look for it. It may have been lost to dead hard drives at sometime.
i had an experience much like this one in the sea under water... these two particular mullet refused to swim away, which was severely disturbing as mullet are very shy fish ..
but about half hour into they started swimming up to the guy and myself and darting in and out of our legs...
wonder if they were spawned n/e where near a school, or whorehouse lol
