"Southern Cross" harmony-
our voices never sounded as good as
when under Lisa's seductive soprano and
JR's acoustic guitar
we all became more beautiful
under their glow
every one, a genius at midnight
a shark falls asleep at my neck
I see speaker wires, proud and
black against apartment white walls
someone passes cake in a can
someone drops eggs into boiling
pasta water someone touches my leg
under short denim
it does not matter who
just pass it around now
pass it around
and for a while then
everything was cool
and we were all each other
blended on carpet and hardwood.

this posted elsewhere, read here it and enjoyed it again. Nice work.
"every one, a genius at midnight" <~ That's a great line Seattle. Thanks ;)
This brought back memories of days and people lost. ANd of a time and a place and a group and a moment when we were a little bit more than just us. Pass it around...
the band.
I had many a night like this also.
Love the " shark at the neck" line and also the " touch under short denim...pass it around"
There is a lazy camaraderie here that you capture very well.
As always you work makes me smile and think
Thank you
the shark line is great
a shark falls asleep at my neck
I see speaker wires, proud and
black against apartment white walls
