Here I am - you found me. I'm a weekend editor & can usually return a story in about 4-7 days or less, depending on it's length. If you need your piece back before then, I may not be the best choice for your editor. I believe that the written word sometimes comes back to haunt the author. It’s especially true when authors seem to ignore the spell-check/grammar function (I know, you’d never do that). As my employer’s unofficial editor for over 10 years (no, I’m not a professional editor), I’ve become very adept at making sure that material for dissemination is correctly punctuated, grammatically correct & consistent from beginning to end. I want to do the same for you, the author, if you feel you could use a second pair of eyes. After all, you can only look at something for so long before it all starts to look the same. I do a line-by-line edit, marking everything I think needs your attention, however basic. The draft will come back to you with suggestions & comments for you to think about, with the understanding that you’ll use them, or not, as you see fit. I'm happy to read/edit documents in either Word or WordPerfect. But, please have mercy: nothing smaller than 12 pt. font. Again, I usually edit only on the weekends.
I'm happy to help any author, no matter the length of what you’re writing (okay, no sequaelx to "War & Peace", please). Don't worry if I haven’t “checked” your particular genre. If you think I’m the editor for you, contact me & we’ll figure something out. I’m willing to learn about almost anything, with only a few exceptions (snuf & incest among them). Most of all, I want to help you give your readers the most well-rounded & cohesive example of your talent, ultimately reflecting well on you & me.
