| Profile Statement:
Why pick me? Think back to the days of grade school, when your teachers would ask you to have your story edited by 3 peers. EVERYONE in the class would always run to me. Why? Because, while most students went for overall flow, plot, etc., I dove right in and attacked the nitty gritty grammatical errors. I've been dubbed the "grammar whore", and I love it! ;) Now, I do also review the story as a whole, and have been told that I do an excellent job, but I never do this until the grammar's been fixed--it drives me nuts--and the story's comprehendable. What else should you know? I have two undergrad degrees (in sciences), and am now in pharmacy school. While I never ended up writing them, my MCAT course teacher lauded my writing skills in front of the whole class! I was the only student in a VERY competitive communications class to receive 100%. Nerd that I am, I've read books like "Eats, Shoots and Leaves" and "The Elements of Style" for pleasure. Convinced? I just love editing! :)
What themes do I prefer? Well, first off, I'm a sucker for anything involving kissing, romantic sentiments and stories of long-time friends taking it to the next level. I spend most of my time in the "Erotic Couplings", "First Time", "Romance" and "Novels/Novellas" sections. When the right mood strikes, I'll delve into the "Chain Stories", "Exhib + Voyeur", "Group Sex", "Incest/Taboo" and "Lesbian" sections. If I have a favourite author, I'll pretty much read any category. Transsexualism does nothing for me; I have nothing against it, it's just not my style. Intense pain, non-human, golden showers and necrophilia are also out. When it comes to poetry, I'm as dense as they come. Tu pourriez m'envoyer tes histoires en français seulement si ton langue première n'étais pas la français; j'avais une diplôme français, mais je ne me considérais pas bilingue. I also like reading non-erotic pieces (including "humor + satire", "how to", "letters + transcripts" and "reviews + essays"). My number one condition: you MUST specify what country you are from. I am Canadian and British; I am humoUrous, I buy pop (not soda) by the litRE, I analySe everything, I buy catalogUEs, I reference encyclopAedias, there's a character on Grey's Anatomy named Dr McDreamy (no period), I abhor the Oxford/Harvard comma...you get the point. However, I do respect cultural grammatical differences, but you must tell me which set of rules to follow! |
