| Profile Statement:
I'm picky, but believe that any corrections I suggest are only suggestions. The author always has the final say on what to incorporate or omit. I'll help you eliminate distractions that get in the way of your message. Categories of distractions include spelling, word usage (where your flying fingers keyed an incorrect word for what you intended), spell-check English (where the spelling/context checker allowed or encouraged an incorrect word), point of view confusion (who's thinking that?), dialog confusion (who said that?), action confusion (who or what did that?) and inconsistencies between parts of your stories.
The bad news is that my thorough approach takes time. If you want a quick edit, I'm probably not the editor you want.
I'm a published author (one technical book and multiple periodical articles on various topics) and know how important it is to find an editor who will catch much of what the author's fingers and eyes missed.
I've participated for several years in read and critique sessions with other fiction authors, mutually polishing work for publication.
Tools on my machine: Microsoft Word 2010, Word Perfect 8.0, TextPad. Preferred delivery format: .text or .rtf. |
