Dancer... with color...OoOOoooooOooo

I have always enjoyed the "exotic" paintings of the 1800's and the turn of the (last) century), Orientalism and the romanticism and sensuality of the European interpretation of Egypt and the idealized slave markets and harems (fantasies) as depicted by slave market Gérôme, for example. Someday, I may take the time to do some paintings with that sort of depth and detail, but in the mean time I enjoy a more spontaneous depiction just for giggles. For this one I did take some extra time to add some textures to give a nod to the old masters. This is not meant to be historically accurate nor is it meant to be disparaging, the image is only a lovely fantasy.

eventually.....
I think I'd like to re-visit this image/theme as a painting, either with physical paints and/or digital. The digital work on this version was not what I consider digital "painting" — using a stylus as a virtual brush. Of course, these days, the lines blur, in every way.more...
not necessary...

Of course course the progression is not "necessary", however *some* folk like to see. I know that *I* enjoy seeing how other folk work.more...
