She detests her husband, whom she knows is a cowardly fool who will swallow the bitter pills, every day repeated, of sexual indifference, rejection, and deprivation. She has not slept with her him for 14 years but loves to let him see her naked as if by accident or mere happenstance. He could have a long look--just so he never asked for it, or said anything, or believed that she intended him to see her naked, and, further, at these moments, she often spoke in an off-hand manner, of other men, those she had known in her youth, or she spoke on the phone to her girl friends, arranging to meet them without a thought or word of explanation to her spouse. Here she is after he has had a long look at her nude --she is angrily criticizing him for not being a big money-earner like the handsome brothers, Melkaart and Rudiger Chord.
