Unfinished Ex

I was young, and had just gotten out of a seven-year relationship, a length of time that seems staggering to me now.

And then this goth girl comes along. Not conventionally beautiful - her nose was hooked, her skin was pallid. But there was a fire in her eyes, a mischievous streak that I couldn't get off my mind.

She was the first girl that I asked for her number before getting to know her at all, and I went home that day with it written in sharpie on my forearm.

We didn't really date, now that I look back at it. We'd go to my place or hers, talk for a bit, and then fool around a lot. The sex was amazing, I'll probably be writing stories about it here someday.

I would have started a serious relationship if not for her revealing to me one day that she actually had a serious girlfriend who didn't know about us, she'd been cheating on her the whole time with me.

I visited her a few times after that, and sex was still amazing. On one of our last get-togethers, she did lines of coke - purportedly so that she could stay up later to study for her exams.

I didn't go to see her much after that, I fell into a long string of other girlfriends, I found out that she lost a lot of weight, shaved most of her head, and got a pretty bad reputation around town.

And so the drawing I'd done of her back then I leave unfinished - I'd actually buried it along with a lot of other thoughts and feelings about her. It's not professional by any means, but I do really think it captures her charm.
