For many years,
Chains had held.
Heart, body and soul,
Leaving its deep, dark mark.

Now free from the chains,
The past has no hold.
Leaving a soul alone,
One in solitude.

Alone perhaps,
Though better off.
Having broken away,
From those chains.

Indeed, I can relate. Being alone is better than bearing those chains. Being alone sucks but those chains are far worse.

Quietly alone...

Chains broken ~ free from the past ~ alone in peaceful solitude. Enchanting Poem.
