Can anyone see me,
Lost in a crowd.
Kicking yet drowning,
Moment by moment.

Tears slipping,
Dripping down.
Slowly washing,
Showing the pain.

The ache and need,
Does not recede.
The burning and churning,
Of quiet yurning.

Lurking in the pits,
Swallowed from below.
So no one can see me,
Lost and crying in the crowd.

From below,
No one will know.
The true depths of me.
From below.

~~

The worst loneliness is that experienced while surrounded by a crowd, a crowd that only senses your presence but never truly 'sees' you.

No one knows...

Lost and crying ~ no one will know - the true depths.

Heartbreaking and tenderly rendered.
