You felt I was asleep
When I caught you staring
I thought you were asleep
When you stopped breathing

We touched…

My heart halted in my chest
Your body was so lifeless
So I broke down and cried
Tears, burning my insides!

I closed my eyes…
Went back in time…

When you sought and loved my mind
How I swayed,
As we danced in stride
We made love…

I reopened my eyes…
The clock read 12:45
That’s the moment our love died
