Bright lights
Suddenly there
Colors
Pretty
Faces looking in
Pushing paper away, where's those lights?

Flash

Tree covered lights
Screaming with glee
I know what this means
Empty now
But tree won't be
When Santa arrives.

Flash

Stupid lights
Can't I go?
Don't give me presents
Or embarrass me more
Just cash
I'll buy my own.

Flash

I love the lights
But more would be too much
I think its right
Look at their eyes
Almost as bright
As colors of the wrappings.

Flash

Lovely lights
If only kids could stay
Or leave the babes
My delight
Quiet now
Glass of wine makes my night.

Flash

I've kept these lights
All my life
Cheaper ones now
Foolish to throw them away
Put away with care
Few boxes remain.

Flash

Where's my lights?
Tears color my view
Last box torn open
All I had left
Don't want new ones
I've had them since...

Flash

Bright lights
In darkening night
Sitting still
Watching
First memory from so many
Dimming with them at night, at night.
