It is
39 days
23 hours
And 55 minutes
Since I last made love to you
I think about it now
Body reacting
On pure impulse
To the memory
Of perspiring bodies
Pushed to the edge
Of their combined threshold
For pleasure
And made to linger there
Indefinitely
As muscles shake
Struggling to maintain
Control
Before that point
Where we would
Normally let go
And let ourselves fall
Slowly over the side.....
But this time we held on
Focusing on eyes
Wide like saucers
In the
Half light
Half shadow
Of the candles surrounding us
Breathing in the combined aroma
Of our scents
And the incense slowly burning
In the corner
Then the bell chimed
And we stepped away from the edge
40 days
We said
That's all
40 days feels like an eternity
Though I thought it would be easy
Foolish as I was
At that time
When I couldn't foresee
Days and nights
Of seeing you
And knowing that there
Wouldn't be anything more than a chaste kiss
And an embrace
Through multiple layers
Of clothes I would rip to shreds in an instant
If I let myself be consumed
By this need
I feel for you
And have felt since I first laid eyes on you
Which has been kept satiated
Until now
When we constantly watch each other
Predator and prey in one
Waiting for the first sign of weakness
Like lingering stares
Which go on just a second too long
To be an intentional temptation
Or you several days ago
Biting your bottom lip hard
As your hands gripped your seat tightly
Thighs squeezed firmly together
Head to one side
As you closed your eyes
Breathed deeply
And for a moment
I knew I had you right where I wanted
But then you looked up
Smiled tensely
And walked away
Leaving me wondering
Whether it was an act
Or whether you were lost
In fantasy
Like I am now
Two minutes to go
Waiting for you
Shirt on the floor
So my chest is bare
Your wannabe black Adonis
Body exhausted from
Holding myself back for so long
All this tension
Need for release
Surging through my veins
The thought of you
Invigorating and exciting me
Becoming a blur of memories
Sensations
Sounds
Scents
Tastes
Licking my lips
Nostrils flaring
My hand wanders down my stomach
As if it has a mind of its own
Unbuckles my belt
My eyes are closed
I hear my zipper descend
Feel my jeans fall to the floor
Feel my boxers loosen
Exposed to the draft from the window
As I imagine you there
Beside me
But then realise you're not here
Yet
I pull myself back from that place in my mind
Hunched over
Hands balled into fists
In a futile attempt
To distract myself
From the fact that time is running out.
I need you here.
Now!!
As if on cue
I hear your key in the lock
Thirty seconds to go
As you planned
And it takes every last drop
Of self control
To stand here
In the bedroom doorway
As you close the front door
And let your thin dress
Drop silently to the floor
Revealing yourself
To be in the same stage of undress
And desire
As me.
The countdown begins.
Ten...
Nine...
Eight...
Seven....
Six ....
Five...
Four...
Three...
Two...
One...
At midnight the bell chimes.
We kiss.
