Lapping surf on the shore,
the sound echoes up the bluff and
through my bedroom window.
Preempting the dawn
Nature's alarm clock, my mind
is awake within this ocean and
curls around thoughts of you.

Do you slumber peacefully
in an unknown bed,
the steady rhythm of your breathing
keeping time with the waves
of my pleasure?
We drift aimlessly in this motion,
together and apart.

Like seaweed, you wrap
around me languidly,
a slow motion orchestra
caressing my skin, salty
kisses I dream of nightly.
You swim with me there,
idly exploring my shores,
searching tidal pools for
hidden treasure.

A hint of sun on the horizon;
daybreak here, yet dark
on your skin, curtains drawn.
Hours behind the dawning
of this day, on this body.
Cacophony of alarms and
seagulls, yet still we frolic
amid the grainy images
of my mind,
a sandy hourglass of time
until you return.
