Had I not held you up so high
I never would have climbed to sky
Seen warmth of Sun caught in the smile
That shone on me but for a little while
Now that your bright Sun has left my sky
In starless emptiness I alone must cry
Is this a punishment that I must feel
For not allowing our love to be real
Here, caught on paper, our last ordeal
A Formal signature seems odd, surreal
The ink has dried as has my care
The love we shared no longer there
And thus no more under your spell
I needs must bid you this farewell

Special thanks to Angline, for without her special skills I would be lost!
