A Bouquet of Her Own

So wounded, so much pain.
A lifetime of suffering to overcome,
Presented by her as if a bouquet of flowers.

Each scar, like a bud to open and reveal,
Each with its own aroma,
Each one a special beauty.

Given as an offering of friendship,
To be cherished and protected,
Together, a magnificent display!

What romance!
Honesty an offering, and trust a sacrifice,
Freely made to another.

This bouquet to be displayed, then saved,
Pressed between the pages of a life shared,
A history on which to reflect and remember.
