t's a certain kind of beauty that I see,
but probably hides from your own eyes when you look in the mirror.
You will not see what I see; it hides from you and stays away.
I see the way you stare at the sky,
maybe seeing those that have left or even those that have stayed.
I see your platinum hair, to your shoulders, hiding what you are thinking from the rest of the world.
I see your eyes, and all that they know. The knowledge makes your eyes seem deeper.
I see the way you shuffle your feet when you wake, unsure of your footing;
and the way your arms are crossed, like a straitjacket has tied your hands across your chest.
Even the way you fall asleep so quickly,
and the peace that comes with it -
your breathing shallow and complete, like you have finally found
something that has evaded you for some time.
I see your generosity towards others and the way it exceeds your own capability.
I see the way that you help me, and do the things that make my own life simpler.
And the way that you express your emotion. The full spectrum; all of it.
Your tears are rich with the hurt that you are feeling.
Your anger comes out like a boulder from your mouth.
Your fear is evident in your eyes and in your words.
The spirituality that you know, that has come to you in the worst times,
is evident too. It colors everything that you do today.
And there is beauty in that. You should see that. Know that.
You deserve the gifts of being the Angel that you are. That I see.
And everyone else should see it, also; that certain kind of beauty.
