Well, you are gone
And why it only hits me sometimes
I can only guess
I thought this new war distracted me
Yet had it not
I know I’d have found something to
Who wants to think of whom
When they are gone

I hate people and they hate me
Judgmental and outspoken
But not with you
With you I held silent
You were to be trusted
Admired
And through my silence
Always a story to tell

Rescuing a girl from an Albanian mobster
And then stealing from him
Strippers from New Orleans
Movie stars’ sisters
Good times

And now it’s nothing
Memories…silent
One too many hits of GHB
Wrong place at the wrong time
Random tragedy

And I can’t even say I told you so

Dedicated to Damien Kilpert 1974-2001

Untold...

The loss of a loved one in a random tragedy. Evocative and sentimental reminising of times now gone.

~~

Bit of a melancholy piece from deep within Lit's recesses.
