If we could go back ...
      back to the time
when we first knew each other,
I wonder if we could find
      what we must have missed?

Just a small change
and we wouldn't have said good-bye,
and we would still have our love.

Something must have been overlooked
                                along the way.

Perhaps, I didn't hold you close enough
             when I should have
                      or ...
             maybe you were too busy
                     when I called your name,
                               so you didn't hear.

Wouldn't it be rediculous
to wake up years from now
and realize
            we lost each other
because we forgot to say,
                    "I love you ..."
                              once in awhile?

Too common, I fear...

A lot of sadness in this!

If only... and we would still love.

There is a lot in this to ponder.
