I lie awake and daydream of her. I wonder what she is doing at this very moment, am I in her thoughts as she is in mine? When she awakens in the morning am I on her mind having just left her dreams? Never too many moments pass that I do not find my thoughts drifting off to her, asking if she would like this or that. My heart wants to sing; though I know I cannot carry a tune. I write poetry but it seems to pale compared to what I feel when I think of her. I lack the words that could ever do her justice. I feel empty when she is far and excited when she says but one word of greeting. Who is she to me, you wonder? She is a friend, one that offers nothing more and asks nothing in return. A true friend she will always be.
