I saw a familiar face
today
as always today is
a familiar day
just like yesterday
just like tomorrow
familiar...
I used to know -
at least I think I did
things -
that were important
that were right
wrong
black and white...
Sometimes I CAN remember
familiar things
hurtful things
soft and warmly fuzzy
things
but mostly
I can't.

A sweet Soul who's slowly fading to black ~ in a dimishing state. Sad and poignant.
. . .Then it is a good day. A nicely written tribute to growing old and the resultant loss of memory, Alzheimer inspired or not.
The sparseness of the words echoes the lost details in the memories of a long life. Both are rich beyond the telling.
You have done this well. I hope all your days are good ones so that you can remember and write more for us. God bless you if you cannot.
