I place a delicate kiss upon a cloud,
Swiftly it drifts off into the night,
My last lingering love has finally set sailed,
Across land and ocean it will take flight.

An explorer I do wish it be,
From old lands of England born,
Sent to the new world for my love to see,
Our lives lived apart and thus our souls torn.

But a kiss upon a cloud will still be sent to thee,
When you look upon a windy sky,
A white cotton of misty mystery,
Thou shalt know how my heart will never die.

Resting a weary head upon a pillow,
Her hand does lay across my chest,
But hear me now as I say feel no sorrow,
As upon my heart closer yours is pressed.

Our love will know not of borders or distance,
So read this and speak its words aloud,
For our souls know of each others existence,
A physical touch is nothing compared to a delicate kiss from a sailing cloud.
