Whose droll sense of humor wasn’t pedantic,

And if I was a fly
By his bed, Oh My!
My ommatidia'd see nothing drastic.

Poet Guy does not generally care for limericks,

if this is one (some of the meter seems slightly off to him), but that last line is hilarious.

If you're gonna write a limericky Nash-like poem

this is the way to do it. Funny, yes, but lots of places to take the imagination in those few words.
