A moment in time, a time not forgotten;
A glistening drop of oil in the memory of man.
Finding our way, the way long forgotten,
Looking for footprints left in the sand.
Time out of time, a time ill-proportioned,
Man against nature, man against man.
And this man out of time, this soldier of fortune,
Looks to the sky, the stars in his hand.
Wonder of wonders, lights of the sky,
Death when I see thee, death walking by,
Enlightens my spirit in depth as I cry.
Alone do I stand, sun-storms in my eye,
Alone do I fight, alone do I die.
Alone my bones whither, crumble and lie...
Alone didst I love thee,
Alone knowing why.
