A Most Beautiful Woman

I saw the most beautiful woman yesterday
A gem among jewels
She was tall and slender, chicly dressed, as if by Channel herself
All in black wool with a little cap and a tight fitting slacks
Of thick ribbed wool revealing her long slender legs and
Curved hips, yet to no extreme
Black slender boots with moderate heel
I could see her entire figure as if she was nude
Yet she was fully dressed as her breasts pressed
With modesty against her jacket
She looked as if from another planet, her beauty so rare and fine
If I had to guess, I would say French with a touch of Asian
Or from the mysterious Ural mountains where Asia and Europe mingle
Her large dark eyes, ever active shone, like polished jet, under
European lids that fit her small face perfectly
Under her cap flowed rich dark hair, straight with a hint of curl
As if a cascade of Niagara, framing her full red lips,
A well formed nose as if designed by an architect,
Her skin was warm to the eye
I watched her for a while mesmerized
I tried to understand whom she was with, of the busy crowd
First an older man who stood near her? He seemed gruff and dangerous.
Then, a well to do man passed by her, was it her lover?
Was that an older sister talking in her direction?
All question to no avail
Perhaps she was a dancer from the Folies Brejere
Or a famous photo model pursued by middle age rock stars
A billionaire's mistress with out her entourage
When I left I turned and smiled at her, nodding my head
She almost smiled back before realizing she did not know me
At that moment I would have laid my fortune at her feet
Pledged eternal love, never left her side
Yes, there is such a thing as love at first sight
An illusion only spoiled by our words and actions
I shall never forget her
Perhaps we will meet again,
And I shall show here this poem,
And we will laugh and be stranger
