There are quaint farms
with yellow hay or green limes,
and peaceful prosperity
in these brave new times
There are jungles and elephants,
majestic mountains wooded thick,
and vast sky-scraper cities
full of cars like ants
There are libraries
full of verse and music
millenia in the making,
fish on fleet fins
and birds on graceful wing
There are myriad lands,
great nations filling Gaiia's sea
like Pacific islands
boasting strange and wondrous diversity:
People who drink whisky
and people who drink tea,
peoples orderly and dainty
peoples wild and free
Yes, with
"all its sham and drudgery" - (Desiderata)
it's still a beautiful earth,
with many things
of great beauty and worth
