I'm thinking of her in a party dress
She said she drank a lot; so it would seem
When she looks at me bright eyed, a caress
Would be the very thing to make her dream
Of our loving connection; but I'll take
No liberties and leave her to her rest,
Undressing her if needs be; she can wake
To wonder how she managed to divest
Herself of clothes, lacking sobriety;
But I will wrest the questions and the thought
That she was waylaid – let her break her fast;
She can drink the coffee I have brought
Upstairs to help her wake; a small repast
Is enough for a tipsy girl, whose head
Has lain on pillows in her master's bed.
