Non-Erotic Poetrya poem about summersomehow i blinked
that long blink of sleep that jumps:
friends sleeping on the floor;
a midnight walk;
police in my living room;
her shivering form in my bed.
guilt could only set in with reality
so i said 'shhhh,shhhh' and pulled her close,
away from those horrors that happened
when i briefly closed my eyes.
