A POEM FOR THE MENTALLY ILL

The stigma attached to
Our kind, often is unfair,
In that of the homeless,
Or those in prison
That didn’t understand
Their illness,
Or never properly diagnosed,
Sometimes not at all,
And even worse,
Let out of the hospital
Before it was time
And committed either suicide
Or harmed others
When not in control,
Because they didn’t know
The hospital protocol
To get admitted
By not saying,
“I’m going to kill myself”,
Or that, “I will fuck somebody up
If you don’t keep me”.
Somebody has to speak for them!
Why not us?
We may not be perfectly
Balanced like the average soul.
But we SHOULD- CAN-
Make a world of DIFFERENCE
By letting our
VOICES be heard
In the populace-
Because after all,
Some of us writer’s are afflicted
And are saved by our creativity.

tender soul

Those poor souls who look through a glass dark with bewilderment and sadness ~ surely a way must be provided that they may escape this mental hell.

Not politically correct

But then, when writers are so afflicted

It can be overlooked.
