A poet's pen sincerely holds his untold thoughts
While paper waits for images to be born onto it
Through his words that impregnate his mind in lots
Of pieces and puzzles that don't seem to quite fit
Into the perfect arrangement that he held in his mind
When he first took thought to write this pensive poem
That would be his masterpiece of the most ingenious kind
If only his wandering thoughts wouldn't constantly roam
He would be done with this most awesome task at hand
Then his mind would be free of times built up worry
Of watching the hourglass pass another month of sand
Or of writing it carelessly in too much of a hurry
.....'Tis a shame for one to think that one day he'd die
.....Without a poetic magnum opus to make people sigh

Solution

A brief idea ~ a tiny creative spark ~ ignition ~ behold - a poem will be born.

That's the trick ~

To get that work of ultimate genius

From the mind through the pen

And onto that blank sheet of paper.
